Help the Town of Chino Valley Celebrate our Golden Jubilee!

The Town of Chino Valley, AZ has a long and rich history, known for its abundant farm land that helped feed generations of indigenous cultures, the location of the first Territorial Capital of Arizona in the 19th Century, to the sprawling vistas and beautiful scenery we enjoy today.

Then in September 1970, Chino Valley was incorporated, and we are preparing a year long celebration to mark our 50th Anniversary.

The celebration begins with various events in 2019 culminating in a Golden Jubilee Celebration on our Territorial Days Labor Day Event in September of 2020.

We are seeking help from the community to share your memories, family history, photos, home movies, and other milestone events that connect us all together to make our town such a great place to live.

Please contact us via email at with your comments, suggestions, and submissions to include in our celebration.

Some of the features of our Golden Jubilee Celebration include a book chronicling the towns history, commemorative souvenirs such as posters, stickers, & T-Shirts, and a Town Time Capsule that will serve as a treasure for future generations.

Please follow us here as well as on our Town Facebook Page, YouTube Channel, Twitter, & Instagram accounts for updates on this ongoing project.

We hope you will take time to complete one of our questionnaires to help make our Golden Jubilee the best party Chino Valley has ever seen!

Chino Valley Review 50th Anniversary Article

The Town of Chino Valley celebrates the 50th Anniversary of incorporation this week, September 5, 2020. The scheduled all-day event, that was to include the annual Territorial Days Parade, live music, and carnival attractions has been postponed until 2021 due to coronavirus concerns and Governor Doug Ducey’s Executive Order prohibiting large gatherings.

The 50th Anniversary Committee did however host a ceremonial Time Capsule Burial on Saturday, September 5, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. for a select few invited guests at the Chino Valley Public Library located at 1020 Palomino Road.

The ceremony took place at the Time Capsule site, located at the south end of the library adjacent to the new Memory Park Playground.

The Time Capsule contains various items to reflect the history of Chino Valley and life in the Town during this Golden Jubilee year. Included among the items were copies of family stories submitted from members of the community, a copy of the 50th Anniversary Year book created by the anniversary committee, a bottle of wine provided by a Granite Creek Vineyards of Chino Valley, a copy of a current local newspaper, and various other items, including a face mask to reflect the COVID-19 pandemic that has greatly impacted not only the local community but the world in general.

The capsule is scheduled to be unearthed in 2070, for the Town’s 100th Anniversary.

Details on the 2021 rescheduled event will be made available as soon as possible, the Committee is scheduled to reconvene its planning and seeking additional volunteers in coming months as circumstances permit.
